Where few wild wild flowers are lain | B |
Over there they lay over my little sister | C |
Over there lay my small sad sister | C |
Now at rest with long gone grandparents | D |
She s gone from us forever at a very early age | E |
Once while young was as fragile as the most fragile flower | C |
Restless as the wildest wind unable to be content | F |
Born seeking love as deep as the ocean | G |
This was the girl I tried hard to guide | H |
Left her back in our Pioneer Valley our only known childhood home | I |
To try and escape very unpleasant memories | J |
To see the world and its riches fame and fortune to gain | B |
In the hope of rewriting my early experiences | K |
When I returned to New York no treasures or caring friends | L |
Could ease my heart so full of pain | B |
I had tried so hard to guide Carol Anne | M |
But at her untimely end I felt I had failed her | C |
Now so cold there on that weedy field | N |
Below that mound of uneven ground | O |
My mind wanders there | P |
The girl I tried so often to comfort | Q |
Noe she lays between those transplanted flowers | R |
Lovingly placed there by a saintly aunt | S |
She lay I so hope she is at peace with herself | T |
I ll again go away and I ll again wander | C |
Hoping one day that my path leads back home | I |
Now I leave aside my meager earthly gain | B |
And I ll not end it myself with simple riches | U |
Undone in sorrow I remain | B |
Yes undone in sorrow I remain | B |
