| Where few wild wild flowers are lain | B |
| Over there they lay over my little sister | C |
| Over there lay my small sad sister | C |
| Now at rest with long gone grandparents | D |
| She s gone from us forever at a very early age | E |
| Once while young was as fragile as the most fragile flower | C |
| Restless as the wildest wind unable to be content | F |
| Born seeking love as deep as the ocean | G |
| This was the girl I tried hard to guide | H |
| Left her back in our Pioneer Valley our only known childhood home | I |
| To try and escape very unpleasant memories | J |
| To see the world and its riches fame and fortune to gain | B |
| In the hope of rewriting my early experiences | K |
| When I returned to New York no treasures or caring friends | L |
| Could ease my heart so full of pain | B |
| I had tried so hard to guide Carol Anne | M |
| But at her untimely end I felt I had failed her | C |
| Now so cold there on that weedy field | N |
| Below that mound of uneven ground | O |
| My mind wanders there | P |
| The girl I tried so often to comfort | Q |
| Noe she lays between those transplanted flowers | R |
| Lovingly placed there by a saintly aunt | S |
| She lay I so hope she is at peace with herself | T |
| I ll again go away and I ll again wander | C |
| Hoping one day that my path leads back home | I |
| Now I leave aside my meager earthly gain | B |
| And I ll not end it myself with simple riches | U |
| Undone in sorrow I remain | B |
| Yes undone in sorrow I remain | B |
