Moonstruck Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC DDEEFFGHIIHJ KLJILIKKJGKIIIIMKM KGGGNNGF

Cold shone the moon with noiseA
The night went byB
Trees uttered things of woeC
Bent grass dared not growC
-
Ah desperate man with haggard eyesD
And hands that fence away the skiesD
On rock and briar stumblingE
Is it fear of the storm's rumblingE
Of the hissing cold rainF
Or lightning's tragic painF
Drives you so madlyG
See see the patient moonH
How she her course keepsI
Through cloudy shallows and across black deepsI
Now gone now shines soonH
Where's cause for fearJ
-
'I shudder and shudderK
At her bright lightL
I fear I fearJ
That she her fixt course followsI
So still and whiteL
Through deeps and shallowsI
With never a tremorK
Naught shall disturb herK
I fear I fearJ
What they may beG
That secretly bind herK
What hand holds the reinsI
Of those sightless forcesI
That govern her coursesI
Is it SetebosI
Who deals in her commandM
Or that unseen Night ComerK
With tender curst handM
I shudder and shudder '-
-
Poor storm wisp wanderK
Wind shall not hurt theeG
Rain not appal theeG
Lightning not blast theeG
Thou art worn so frailN
Only the moonlight paleN
To an ash shall burn theeG
To an invisible PainF
