On The Water Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFG HIJHKL

The sound of bank and water is all I hearA
The sad resignation of a weeping springB
Or a rock that hourly sheds a tearC
And the birch leaves' vague quiveringB
-
I do not see the river bear the boat alongD
The flowering shore flits past and I remainE
And in the watery depths that I skimF
The reflected blue sky flutters like a curtainG
-
Meandering in their sleep you might say the watersH
Waver no longer sure where the bank liesI
And the flower thrown in hesitates to chooseJ
And like this flower all that man desiresH
Can settle on the river of my lifeK
Without teaching me which way my wishes lieL
