Hope Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBCDEFGGHIJIKLMLNO POHOQDOOHIJIKLML

The spirit killeth but the letter giveth lifeA
The week is dealt out like a handB
That children pick up card by cardC
One keeps getting the same handB
One keeps getting the same cardC
But twice a day except on SaturdayD
The wheel stops there is a crack in TimeE
With a hiss of soles a rattle of tinF
My own gray Daemon pauses on the stairG
My own bald Fortune lifts me by the hairG
Woe's me woe's me In Folly's mailboxH
Still laughs the postcard HopeI
Your uncle in AustraliaJ
Has died and you are PopeI
For many a soul has entertainedK
A Mailman unawaresL
And as you cry ImpossibleM
A step is on the stairsL
One keeps getting the same dreamN
Delayed marked Payment DueO
The bill that one has paidP
Delayed marked Payment DueO
Twice a day in rotting mailboxH
The white grubs are newO
And Faith once more is mineQ
Faithfully but CharityD
Writes hopefully about a newO
Asylum but Hope is as good as newO
Woe's me woe's me In Folly's mailboxH
Still laughs the postcard HopeI
Your uncle in AustraliaJ
Has died and you are PopeI
For many a soul has entertainedK
A mailman unawaresL
And as you cry ImpossibleM
A step is on the stairsL
