The Gipsy Girl Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGF HIJI KLML C AD

'Come try your skill kind gentlemenA
A penny for three tries 'B
Some threw and lost some threw and wonC
A ten a penny prizeD
-
She was a tawny gipsy girlE
A girl of twenty yearsF
I liked her for the lumps of goldG
That jingled from her earsF
-
I liked the flaring yellow scarfH
Bound loose about her throatI
I liked her showy purple gownJ
And flashy velvet coatI
-
A man came up too loose of tongueK
And said no good to herL
She did not blush as Saxons doM
Or turn upon the curL
-
She fawned and whined 'Sweet gentlemanC
A penny for three tries '-
But oh the den of wild things inA
The darkness of her eyesD
