Elegy On The City's Edge Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB C D E FEF F FF FGFG HIF F F

The sleeping sky is cloudyA
And creates a veil over the lying mindsB
-
Like a festival the cemetery is alluded And it turns to a hunting groundC
-
Open Graves and pits They livedD
-
Crowd of faces in their shades To amaze preysE
-
Reefs and sheets they laidF
On the unseen skins of the deceased commemorating their waysE
In spite of the deaths unperceivedF
-
Decorating they decorate the undecorated those lives that cannot be consecratedF
-
The clock ticks and time's fastenedF
In memories imprisonedF
-
Candles that could not lightF
Their lives any longerG
Cries that won't see them in tightF
Yet they restitute their hungerG
-
They lying there wishing to smileH
But are thousand milesI
Though sighed at the benevolent prideF
-
Embrace their newest mildF
