Afield my emotional contemptA
Was disgustB
And dissatisfactionC
My baldric only containedD
Broken pieces of my heartE
and nothing couldF
Assuage my besotted angerG
My buckler shielded me notH
of this terrific tragedyI
And straight to my chestJ
Bare in its comely gazeK
The arrow struckL
-
Cravenly I criedM
Only to fill a jar of emptinessN
To brook a cataract of isolationC
Loneliness And miseryI
-
To move on was a songO
A melancholy and a Durstn'tM
For nothing was left to gatherG
Together calmlyI
My unrepairable piecesP
For this baldric held the weightM
Of a lifetimeQ
And inestimable lonelinessN
-
I sung not a songO
A period of daysK
and yet further still in my dark daysK
I saw an embrasureG
And through it a bright light shoneR
Which increased the intensityI
Of the darknessN
The coldness in the hot winterG
Only made me warmerG
And the warm winds in the cold summerG
Only blew pain in my esteemS
-
In an eyot I was fetteredM
By the strength of misfortuneC
And flanked to my enemyI
Fate which I had to faceT
Flummoxed and grievedM
I could stand no moreG
For that which I called a companionC
My heart forlornU
-
These pieces gainsay my eyesV
And this guileful rageW
Contradicts my hither smilesX
-
Go away flee from meI
These words cannot comeY
And my voice will not vibrateM
To echo them outM
And thisZ
Passionate slavery to my soulA2
