Death in Africa carry heavy storiesA
-
Like the words use to announce deathB
-
How we die in AfricaC
-
Sometimes a deadly disease possesses ourD
-
Village like demonE
-
The harvested herbs are cooked libationsA
-
Thrown to the godsA
-
Yet I am buried every day like the pastF
-
-
The other time sorrow broke our fenceA
-
And caught us unwareD
-
Alika is a taxi driver who was chewed to deathB
-
By the teeth of potholesA
-
From Anambra to Enugu on new year eveG
-
It was a tale we do not know how to tellH
-
For his unborn children were left for his brokeI
-
Mother as his wife is a story of the pastF
-
-
Sometimes conflict steals our love unwareD
-
And quarrel become the love that bind us togetherD
-
Papa become a predator preying on mamaC
-
Sometimes our home become a television whereD
-
We watch mother being beaten to death by fatherD
-
-
How we die in AfricaC
-
Ola was sick the other dayJ
-
Where Would he be treatedK
-
The health centers are filled with staffs cockroaches and spidersA
-
Throwing a party for my corrupt countryD
-
Private hospitals a vampire eating one before its deathB
-
Demanding high cash before disease is dealt withL
-
Ola died unattended because of no wealthM
-
-
Death deals with us in AfricaC
-
Frustration is the meal we eat inexhaustibleN
-
Schools after schools yet when the cap is offO
-
Job keeps running into the hands of the richP
-
Hunger highly open handed to usA
-
Till we know no road to survival and we chooseA
-
A wrong road heading to suicideQ
-
-
War is a tale you can not tell without usA
-
Have you forgotten when I was broken intoR
-
Pieces like a bottle shattered on wallS
-
Oh south Africans you have killed your spiritT
-
Of negritudeT
-
You have watched me naked in your own homeU
-
When you have enough clothes in your handsA
-
-
How we die in AfricaC
-
Is a bitter story too long to endT
-
Too sad to be told without tearsA
-
So each time we begin this story we do notT
-
Go far because we re always caught by sobsA
-
And so this poem has not endT
-
Let me weep for my dear AfricaC
