A bee that was searching for sweets one dayA
Through the gate of a rose garden happened to strayA
In the heart of a rose he hid awayA
And forgot in his bliss the light of dayA
As sipping his honey he buzzed in songB
Though day was waning he lingered longB
For the rose was sweet so sweetC
-
A robin sits pluming his ruddy breastD
And a madrigal sings to his love in her nestD
Oh the skies they are blue the fields are greenE
And the birds in your nest will soon be seenE
She hangs on his words with a thrill of loveF
And chirps to him as he sits aboveF
For the song is sweet so sweetC
-
A maiden was out on a summer's dayA
With the winds and the waves and the flowers at playA
And she met with a youth of gentle airG
With the light of the sunshine on his hairG
Together they wandered the flowers amongH
They loved and loving they lingered longB
For to love is sweet so sweetC

-
Bird of my lady's bowerI
Sing her a songB
Tell her that every hourI
All the day longB
Thoughts of her come to meJ
Filling my brainK
With the warm ecstasyJ
Of love's refrainK
-
Little bird happy birdL
Being so nearM
Where e'en her slightest wordL
Thou mayest hearN
Seeing her glancing eyesO
Sheen of her hairG
Thou art in paradiseP
Would I were thereG
-
I am so far awayA
Thou art so nearM
Plead with her birdling gayA
Plead with my dearM
Rich be thy recompenseQ
Fine be thy feeJ
If through thine eloquenceR
She hearken meJ
