The Wraith Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH IJIJ KLKL MNON

Ah me it is cold and chillA
And the fire sobs low in the grateB
While the wind rides by on the hillA
And the logs crack sharp with hateB
-
And she she is cold and sadC
As ever the sinful areD
But deep in my heart I am gladC
For my wound and the coming scarD
-
Oh ever the wind rides byE
And ever the raindrops grieveF
But a voice like a woman's sighE
Says Do you believe believeF
-
Ah you were warm and sweetG
Sweet as the May days beH
Down did I fall at your feetG
Why did you hearken to meH
-
Oh the logs they crack and whineI
And the water drops from the eavesJ
But it is not rain but brineI
Where my dead darling grievesJ
-
And a wraith sits by my sideK
A spectre grim and darkL
Are you gazing here open eyedK
Out to the lifeless darkL
-
But ever the wind rides onM
And we sit close withinN
Out of the face of the dawnO
I and my darling sinN
