The Valse Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACADAD AEAEAFAF GHGHAIAI

When to sweet music my lady is dancingA
My heart to mild frenzy her beauty inspiresB
Into my face are her brown eyes a glancingA
And swift my whole frame thrills with tremulous firesC
Dance lady dance for the moments are fleetingA
Pause not to place yon refractory curlD
Life is for love and the night is for sweetingA
Dreamily joyously circle and whirlD
-
Oh how those viols are throbbing and pleadingA
A prayer is scarce needed in sound of their strainE
Surely and lightly as round you are speedingA
You turn to confusion my heart and my brainE
Dance lady dance to the viol's soft callingA
Skip it and trip it as light as the airF
Dance for the moments like rose leaves are fallingA
Strikes now the clock from its place on the stairF
-
Now sinks the melody lower and lowerG
The weary musicians scarce seeming to playH
Ah love your steps now are slower and slowerG
The smile on your face is more sad and less gayH
Dance lady dance to the brink of our partingA
My heart and your step must not fail to be lightI
Dance Just a turn tho' the tear drop be startingA
Ah now it is done so my lady good nightI
