The Place Where The Rainbow Ends Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DDEFFE GGBHHB CCBIIB JJBCCB KKBCCB

There's a fabulous storyA
Full of splendor and gloryA
That Arabian legends transcendsB
Of the wealth without measureC
The coffers of treasureC
At the place where the rainbow endsB
-
Oh many have sought itD
And all would have bought itD
With the blood we so recklessly spendE
But none has uncoveredF
The gold nor discoveredF
The spot at the rainbow's endE
-
They have sought it in battleG
And e'en where the rattleG
Of dice with man's blasphemy blendsB
But howe'er persuasiveH
It still proves evasiveH
This place where the rainbow endsB
-
I own for my pleasureC
I yearn not for treasureC
Though gold has a power it lendsB
And I have a notionI
To find without motionI
The place where the rainbow endsB
-
The pot may hold pottageJ
The place be a cottageJ
That a humble contentment defendsB
Only joy fills its cofferC
But spite of the scofferC
There's the place where the rainbow endsB
-
Where care shall be quietK
And love shall run riotK
And I shall find wealth in my friendsB
Then truce to the storyC
Of riches and gloryC
There's the place where the rainbow endsB
