The Making Up Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA BB CC DD EE FF AA GG

Little Miss Margaret sits in a poutA
She and her Dolly have just fallen outA
-
Dolly is gazing with sorest stareB
Fitted dejectedly back in her chairB
-
Angry at Margaret tearful and grievedC
Sore at the spanking so lately receivedC
-
Pursed are the maiden's lips close as can beD
They are not speaking Miss Dolly and sheD
-
Five minutes passes in silence and thenE
Margaret's ready for playing againE
-
Dolly unbendingly sits in her placeF
Never a change coming over her faceF
-
Up mad goes Margaret dropping her poutA
Clasping her playmate she whispers in doubtA
-
Let's don't play and cry it's too much like trueG
Let's make up Dolly I ain't mad is youG
