The Lawyers' Ways Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE FGCGCHCH IJFKFLML NOCOOPPP

I 've been list'nin' to them lawyersA
In the court house up the streetB
An' I 've come to the conclusionC
That I'm most completely beatB
Fust one feller riz to argyD
An' he boldly waded inE
As he dressed the tremblin' pris'nerF
In a coat o' deep dyed sinE
-
Why he painted him all overF
In a hue o' blackest crimeG
An' he smeared his reputationC
With the thickest kind o' grimeG
Tell I found myself a wond'rin'C
In a misty way and dimH
How the Lord had come to fashionC
Sich an awful man as himH
-
Then the other lawyer startedI
An' with brimmin' tearful eyesJ
Said his client was a martyrF
That was brought to sacrificeK
An' he give to that same pris'nerF
Every blessed human graceL
Tell I saw the light o' virtueM
Fairly shinin' from his faceL
-
Then I own 'at I was puzzledN
How sich things could rightly beO
An' this aggervatin' questionC
Seems to keep a puzzlin' meO
So will some one please inform meO
An' this mystery unrollP
How an angel an' a devilP
Can persess the self same soulP
