Promise Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDBBEE

I grew a rose within a garden fairA
And tending it with more than loving careA
I thought how with the glory of its bloomB
I should the darkness of my life illumeB
And watching ever smiled to see the lusty budC
Drink freely in the summer sun to tinct its bloodC
-
My rose began to open and its hueD
Was sweet to me as to it sun and dewD
I watched it taking on its ruddy flameB
Until the day of perfect blooming cameB
Then hasted I with smiles to find it blushing redE
Too late Some thoughtless child had plucked my rose and fledE
