Preparation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACCABB

The little bird sits in the nest and singsA
A shy soft song to the morning lightB
And it flutters a little and prunes its wingsA
The song is halting and poor and briefC
And the fluttering wings scarce stir a leafC
But the note is a prelude to sweeter thingsA
And the busy bill and the flutter slightB
Are proving the wings for a bolder flightB

Paul Laurence Dunbar
