October Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDDEE FGFGHHII JDKDLFMM

October is the treasurer of the yearA
And all the months pay bounty to her storeB
The fields and orchards still their tribute bearC
And fill her brimming coffers more and moreB
But she with youthful lavishnessD
Spends all her wealth in gaudy dressD
And decks herself in garments boldE
Of scarlet purple red and goldE
-
She heedeth not how swift the hours flyF
But smiles and sings her happy life alongG
She only sees above a shining skyF
She only hears the breezes' voice in songG
Her garments trail the woodlands throughH
And gather pearls of early dewH
That sparkle till the roguish SunI
Creeps up and steals them every oneI
-
But what cares she that jewels should be lostJ
When all of Nature's bounteous wealth is hersD
Though princely fortunes may have been their costK
Not one regret her calm demeanor stirsD
Whole hearted happy careless freeL
She lives her life out joyouslyF
Nor cares when Frost stalks o'er her wayM
And turns her auburn locks to grayM
