My Little March Girl Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD EECCFFDD GGHHIIDD

Come to the pane draw the curtain apartA
There she is passing the girl of my heartA
See where she walks like a queen in the streetB
Weather defying calm placid and sweetB
Tripping along with impetuous graceC
Joy of her life beaming out of her faceC
Tresses all truant like curl upon curlD
Wind blown and rosy my little March girlD
-
Hint of the violet's delicate bloomE
Hint of the rose's pervading perfumeE
How can the wind help from kissing her faceC
Wrapping her round in his stormy embraceC
But still serenely she laughs at his routF
She is the victor who wins in the boutF
So may life's passions about her soul swirlD
Leaving it placid my little March girlD
-
What self possession looks out of her eyesG
What are the wild winds and what are the skiesG
Frowning and glooming when brimming with lifeH
Cometh the little maid ripe for the strifeH
Ah Wind and bah Wind what might have you nowI
What can you do with that innocent browI
Blow Wind and grow Wind and eddy and swirlD
But bring her to me Wind my little March girlD
