My Lady Of Castle Grand Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GBHB IJKJ LMNM KOPO NQKQ KBRB

Gray is the palace where she dwellsA
Grimly the poplars standB
There by the window where she sitsC
My Lady of Castle GrandB
-
There does she bide the livelong dayD
Grim as the poplars areE
Ever her gaze goes reaching outF
Steady but vague and farE
-
Bright burn the fires in the castle hallG
Brightly the fire dogs standB
But cold is the body and cold the heartH
Of my Lady of Castle GrandB
-
Blue are the veins in her lily white handsI
Blue are the veins in her browJ
Thin is the line of her blue drawn lipsK
Who would be haughty nowJ
-
Pale is the face at the window paneL
Pale as the pearl on her breastM
Roderick love wilt come againN
Fares he to east or westM
-
The shepherd pipes to the shepherdessK
The bird to his mate in the treeO
And ever she sighs as she hears their songP
Nobody sings for meO
-
The scullery maids have swains enowN
Who lead them the way of loveQ
But lonely and loveless their mistress sitsK
At her window up aboveQ
-
Loveless and lonely she waits and waitsK
The saddest in all the landB
Ah cruel and lasting is love blind prideR
