Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDCD

A life was mine full of the close concernA
Of many voiced affairs The world sped fastB
Behind me ever rolled a pregnant pastB
A present came equipped with lore to learnA
Art science letters in their turnA
Each one allured me with its treasures vastB
And I staked all for wisdom till at lastB
Thou cam'st and taught my soul anew to yearnA
I had not dreamed that I could turn awayC
From all that men with brush and pen had wroughtD
But ever since that memorable dayC
When to my heart the truth of love was broughtD
I have been wholly yielded to its swayC
And had no room for any other thoughtD
