If Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGAGA

If life were but a dream my LoveA
And death the waking timeB
If day had not a beam my LoveA
And night had not a rhymeB
A barren barren world were thisC
Without one saving gleamD
I 'd only ask that with a kissC
You 'd wake me from the dreamD
-
If dreaming were the sum of daysE
And loving were the baneF
If battling for a wreath of baysE
Could soothe a heart in painF
I 'd scorn the meed of battle's mightG
All other aims aboveA
I 'd choose the human's higher rightG
To suffer and to loveA
