Hymn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABAAB CCDCED FFGFFG

When storms ariseA
And dark'ning skiesA
About me threat'ning lowerB
To thee O Lord I raise mine eyesA
To thee my tortured spirit fliesA
For solace in that hourB
-
The mighty armC
Will let no harmC
Come near me nor befall meD
Thy voice shall quiet my alarmC
When life's great battle waxeth warmE
No foeman shall appall meD
-
Upon thy breastF
Secure I restF
From sorrow and vexationG
No more by sinful cares oppressedF
But in thy presence ever blestF
O God of my salvationG
