From The Porch At Runnymede Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFG HIHI

I stand above the city's rush and dinA
And gaze far down with calm and undimmed eyesB
To where the misty smoke wreath grey and dimC
Above the myriad roofs and spires riseB
-
Still is my heart and vacant is my breathD
This lovely view is breath and life to meE
Why I could charm the icy soul of deathD
With such a sight as this I stand and seeE
-
I hear no sound of labor's din or stirF
I feel no weight of worldly cares or fearsG
Sweet song of birds of wings the soothing whirrF
These sounds alone assail my listening earsG
-
Unwhipt of conscience here I stand aloneH
The breezes humbly kiss my garment's hemI
I am a king the whole world is my throneH
The blue grey sky my royal diademI
