Forever Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH ABHB

I had not known beforeA
Forever was so long a wordB
The slow stroke of the clock of timeC
I had not heardB
-
'Tis hard to learn so lateD
It seems no sad heart really learnsE
But hopes and trusts and doubts and fearsF
And bleeds and burnsE
-
The night is not all darkG
Nor is the day all it seemsH
But each may bring me this reliefI
My dreams and dreamsH
-
I had not known beforeA
That Never was so sad a wordB
So wrap me in forgetfulnessH
I have not heardB
