Farewell To Arcady Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEDAA DDFF FFGHA

With sombre mien the Evening grayA
Comes nagging at the heels of DayA
And driven faster and still fasterB
Before the dusky mantled MasterB
The light fades from her fearful eyesC
She hastens stumbles falls and diesC
-
Beside me Amaryllis weepsD
The swelling tears obscure the deepsD
Of her dark eyes as mistilyE
The rushing rain conceals the seaD
Here lay my tuneless reed awayA
I have no heart to tempt a layA
-
I scent the perfume of the roseD
Which by my crystal fountain growsD
In this sad time are roses blowingF
And thou my fountain art thou flowingF
-
While I who watched thy waters springF
Am all too sad to smile or singF
Nay give me back my pipe againG
It yet shall breathe this single strainH
