Christmas Carol Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DDEFFE GGEHHE EEEEEE BBEIJE KKDLMD

Ring out ye bellsA
All Nature swellsA
With gladness at the wondrous storyB
The world was lornC
But Christ is bornC
To change our sadness into gloryB
-
Sing earthlings singD
To night a KingD
Hath come from heaven's high throne to bless usE
The outstretched handF
O'er all the landF
Is raised in pity to caress usE
-
Come at his callG
Be joyful allG
Away with mourning and with sadnessE
The heavenly choirH
With holy fireH
Their voices raise in songs of gladnessE
-
The darkness breaksE
And Dawn awakesE
Her cheeks suffused with youthful blushesE
The rocks and stonesE
In holy tonesE
Are singing sweeter than the thrushesE
-
Then why should weB
In silence beB
When Nature lends her voice to praisesE
When heaven and earthI
Proclaim the truthJ
Of Him for whom that lone star blazesE
-
No be not stillK
But with a willK
Strike all your harps and set them ringingD
On hill and heathL
Let every breathM
Throw all its power into singingD
