Anchored Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD

If thro' the sea of night which here surrounds meA
I could swim out beyond the farthest starB
Break every barrier of circumstance that bounds meA
And greet the Sun of sweeter life afarB
-
Tho' near you there is passion grief and sorrowC
And out there rest and joy and peace and allD
I should renounce that beckoning for to morrowC
I could not choose to go beyond your callD

Paul Laurence Dunbar
