Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGHHIIJJ

Ther' ain't no use in all this strifeA
An' hurryin' pell mell right thro' lifeA
I don't believe in goin' too fastB
To see what kind o' road you 've passedB
It ain't no mortal kind o' goodC
'N' I would n't hurry ef I couldC
I like to jest go joggin' 'longD
To limber up my soul with songD
To stop awhile 'n' chat the menE
'N' drink some cider now an' thenE
Do' want no boss a standin' byF
To see me work I allus tryF
To do my dooty right straight upG
An' earn what fills my plate an' cupG
An' ez fur boss I 'll be my ownH
I like to jest be let aloneH
To plough my strip an' tend my beesI
An' do jest like I doggoned pleaseI
My head's all right an' my heart's mellerJ
But I 'm a easy goin' fellerJ
