A Winter's Day Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDCEE

Across the hills and down the narrow waysA
And up the valley where the free winds sweepB
The earth is folded in an ermined sleepB
That mocks the melting mirth of myriad MaysA
Departed her disheartening duns and graysA
And all her crusty black is covered deepB
Dark streams are locked in Winter's donjon keepB
And made to shine with keen unwonted raysA
O icy mantle and deceitful snowC
What world old liars in your hearts ye areD
Are there not still the darkened seam and scarD
Beneath the brightness that you fain would showC
Come from the cover with thy blot and blurE
O reeking Earth thou whited sepulchreE
