Why Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GGHGIJKJ LCMCNEOE PQRQSTUT

Why is it Alaskans all come backA
When they've quit this land for goodB
Why is it that no man stays awayC
When he's sworn to his friends he wouldB
Where lies the grip this country hathD
All tangled around the heartE
That takes a grip that can never slipF
And can never be torn apartE
-
Is it the lure of the summer sunshineG
That goes to the head like wineG
Is it the lure of the far flung meadowsH
Of the shadowy scented pineG
Is it the lure of going where none have goneI
Of just being alone in the wildJ
Is it the lure of the ancient glaciersK
That were old when Christ was a childJ
-
They come here wild athirst for goldL
They would win and run awayC
They lose the stake they brought alongM
And then they have to stayC
Here each one follows his own bentN
The mines the hills the martE
Work's but a name the end's the sameO
The country steals your heartE
-
There's a lure to the land of the poppyP
There's a lure to the land of your birthQ
You swear you abhor it and yet you'll long for itR
As no other land on this earthQ
There's the lure of the snow mantled vastnessS
There's the lure of each valley and hillT
Of friends that you've met that you'll never forgetU
And you'll want to come back and you willT
