Rhyme Scheme: ABCCCDDDEEB AFCGGHIIDDF AJCCCGDDKKL AMCCCDDDEEN

One by one ye are passing belovedA
Out of the shadow into the lightB
One by oneC
Are your tasks all doneC
Ended the toil and the swift race runC
Child and maiden mother and sireD
Sister and brotherD
Ye follow each otherD
Out of the darkness where we stand weepingE
Weary and faint with our virgil keepingE
Into die summer land peaceful and brightB
-
One by one ye are passing belovedA
Out of the darkness round us that liesF
One by oneC
Gliding on aloneG
Hearing nor heeding our plaint and moanG
Friend and lover the fondest bestH
Most tender and trueI
Ye pass from our viewI
Out of the night that enfolds us everD
Out of the mists where we moan and shiverD
Into the joy light of sunniest skiesF
-
One by one we are hasting belovedA
Out of the midnight into the dayJ
One by oneC
Are our tasks all doneC
And the race that is set us with swift feet runC
Loved and parted ones still our ownG
Nearing you everD
We press toward the riverD
Over whose waters ye passed on before usK
Shortly to join in your rapturous chorusK
And swell the hosannas of Heaven for ayeL
-
One by one ye are greeting belovedA
Those whom you left for a while in tearsM
One by oneC
Is the bright goal wonC
By those ye lost sight of at set of sunC
Child and maiden mother and sireD
Sister and brotherD
Ye're greeting each otherD
Up where the holy ones round you are singingE
Up where the new song of Heaven is ringingE
Never to part through eternity's yearsN
