Look Up Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDED FGFGHEHE IJFJKLKL MFHFNENE

Christian lookup thy feet may slideA
This is a slippery wayB
Yet One is walking by thy sideA
Whose arm should be thy stayB
Thou canst not see that blessed formC
Nor view that loving smileD
With eager eyes thus earthward bentE
Christian look up a whileD
-
Christian look up what seest thou hereF
To court thy anxious eyesG
Earth is beneath thee lone and drearF
Above thy native skiesG
Beneath the wreck of faded bloomH
The shadow and the clodE
The broken reed the open tombH
Above thee is THY GODE
-
Look up thy head too long has beenI
Bowed darkly toward the earthJ
Thou son of a most Royal SireF
Creature of kingly birthJ
What dragging like a very slaveK
Earth's heavy galling chainL
And struggling onward to the graveK
In weariness and painL
-
What wouldst thou with this world thy homeM
Thy country is not hereF
'Mid faded flowers and perished bloomH
And shadows dense and drearF
Thy home is where the tree of LifeN
Waves high its fruitage blestE
'Mid bowers with fadeless beauties rifeN
Look up and claim thy restE
