Judson's Grave Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFEDGD HIHIHJKJ LMNMAIMI AOAOGPEP

He sleeps where the billowA
Lifts high its white crestB
O'er his lone sea weed pillowA
On Ocean's dark breastB
No shroud is around himC
No flowers bloom aboveD
No mourners surround himC
With grief drops of loveD
-
But the limitless oceanE
His requiem singsF
As with tireless motionE
The green billow springsF
Toward the infinite heavenE
Blue bending aboveD
Where angels are watchingG
His slumbers in loveD
-
Oh boundless his tomb isH
Far reaching sublimeI
Stretching forth in immensenessH
To every climeI
Thus boundless his love wasH
On every sideJ
Spreading freely whereverK
Man sorrowed or diedJ
-
Sleep Judson no grave dustL
Shall rest on thy headM
In sunlight or starlightN
No marble shall shedM
Its shadow sepulchralA
Above thee no tombI
Save Earth's grandest and vastestM
May give to thee roomI
-
Man marks not thy pillowA
With yew tree or stoneO
But God o'er the billowA
Keeps watch of His ownO
And glorious thy risingG
O crowned one will beP
When Jehovah shall summonE
His dead from the seaP
