Hail, Risen Lord! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DDEFFE GGHIIH JJIKLI MMNIIN

Hail risen Lord upon whose browA
The crown of victory resteth nowA
Unfading as the sunB
Hail vanquisher of every foeC
Of Sin dread source of all our woeC
And Death the last undoneB
-
Hail risen Lord the empty graveD
Proclaims aloud thy power to saveD
Thy high victorious mightE
Hail Lord of life and peace and loveF
On thy exalted throne aboveF
In uncreated lightE
-
Hail risen Lord we bend the kneeG
And lift the adoring eye to theeG
And yield thee worship meetH
And while the angelic hosts on highI
Shout their hosannas through the skyI
We breathe them at thy feetH
-
For here 'mid darkness sin and deathJ
Our loudest praise is but a breathJ
An infant's feeble sighI
Yet haply to thy gracious earK
Our weak hosannas are as dearL
As those that swell on highI
-
Hail risen Lord exalted KingM
Well may the highest heavens ringM
With rapture's sweetest laysN
Be ours to add our feeble sighI
To the full chorus of the skyI
In reverential praiseN
