Go, Dream No More Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCCA DEFFFD GCCCCG HDIIIH

Go dream no more of a sun bright skyA
With never a cloud to dimB
Thou hast seen the storm in its robes of nightC
Them hast felt the rush of the whirlwind's mightC
Thou hast shrunk from the lightning's arrowy flightC
When the Spirit of Storms went byA
-
Go dream no more of a crystal seaD
Where never a tempest sweepsE
For thy riven bark on a surf beat shoreF
Where the wild winds shriek and the billows roarF
A shattered wreck to be launched no moreF
Will mock at thy dream and theeD
-
Go dream no more of a fadeless flowerG
With never a cankering blight'C
For the queenliest rose in thy garden bedC
The pride of the morn ere the noon is fledC
With the worm at its heart withers cold and deadC
In the Spoiler s fearful powerG
-
Go dream no more for the cloud will riseH
And the tempest will sweep the seaD
Yet grieve not thou for beyond the strifeI
The storm and the gloom with which Earth is rifeI
Gleam out the light of a calmer lifeI
And the glow of serener skiesH
