Chlodine Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABACDC EFDFGHGH IHIHDJKJ ADLDMNON PBPBAHAH

We met one fresh June morn ChlodineA
Where two roads came togetherB
I'd travelled far through storm and rainA
And you through pleasant weatherB
I loved you for the light ChlodineA
Of summer all around youC
I loved you foil the sweet June flowersD
Whose dewy garlands bound youC
-
You loved me not Chlodine becauseE
The storms had beat upon meF
Because there was no breath of flowersD
No summer sunshine on meF
You could not see Chlodine that deepG
Within my soul were growingH
Fresh flowers that evermore would keepG
The fragrance of their blowingH
-
And so we parted you and II
Your ways all fresh and floweringH
Mine rocky steeps up mountains highI
'Neath skies with tempests loweringH
And yet the sunshine spoilt your flowersD
Mine bitter grief drops nourishedJ
And while yours withered day by dayK
Mine bloomed the more and flourishedJ
-
And now we're met again ChlodineA
You love me for my flowersD
Their perfume scenting all the airL
Like breath of Eden bowersD
I love you not Chlodine alasM
You're changed since those old morningsN
Your regal summer robes are lostO
With all their rare adorningsN
-
We stand together side by sideP
And yet at farthest neverB
Before stretched out so far and wideP
The distance that did severB
Us as to day it does ChlodineA
Though hand touch hand in greetingH
And never again shall we know ChlodineA
Another June day meetingH
