Bright Thoughts For A Dark Day Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDE FGHGIJKJ ACLBMNMN ONPNMQMQ

Will the shadows be lifted to morrowA
Will the sunshine come ever againB
Will the clouds that are weeping in sorrowA
Their glorious beauty regainC
Will the forest stand forth in its greennessD
The meadows smile sweet as beforeE
And the sky in its placid serenenessD
Bend lovingly o'er us once moreE
-
Will the birds sing again as we heard themF
Ere the tempest their gentle notes hushedG
Will the breeze float again in its freedomH
Where lately its melody gushedG
Will the beautiful angel of sunsetI
Drape the heavens in crimson and goldJ
As the day king serenely retirethK
'Mid grandeur and glory untoldJ
-
Yea the clouds will be lifted to morrowA
From valley and hill top and plainC
And sunshine and gladness and beautyL
Will visit the landscape againB
The forest the field and the riverM
Will bask in the joy giving rayN
And the angel of sunset as everM
Will smile o'er the farewell of dayN
-
For the longest day hastes to its endingO
The darkest night speeds to the dayN
O'er thickest clouds ever the sunbeamP
Shines on with unfaltering rayN
Though thou walk amid shadows thy FatherM
Makes His word and his promises thineQ
And whatever the storms that may gatherM
At length thro' the gloom He will shineQ
