Utopian Tales That Wail Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFG HIJKLL MNOPPQCC EERLSL

Bedtime stories never ricochet in salty pillowsA
but trauma is a Disney tale coaxedB
with lilac stardust happy endingC
told and shown with smiley facesD
hiding the dark Grimm original talesE
where glass slippersF
cut toes and sisters pick out eyeballsG
-
So when my father takes my hand and wishesH
good nightI
I ask him wasn't the little mermaid toldJ
to kill the prince cursed to become seafoamK
He sighed over this fact over feeling historyL
'some secrets stay secrets' his words there's so much mysteryL
-
Next day I see my original grimm brother bookM
missing from the shelf with one page leftN
where the queen is burned so that the king sleptO
with the sleeping beauty only to have herP
twins as dinnerP
The thing about beautiful things is thatQ
they are integrally decayingC
But Autumn never griefs of shrinkingC
-
the night I tried to shed these talesE
as lost old friend trying who failsE
to be accepted by hyper unrealistic society standards why we can't gulp downR
that utopian societyL
doesn't existS
and nothing has to be perfect to be prettyL
