My Memory's Care Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDCCCC EEBBCC FFGGGG HIGGGG JJKLGG

Sing not to me a song of beauty brightA
Nor festive scenes of dazzling lightA
Nor of gorgeous pageant in palace hallB
Begemmed with many a coronalB
But sing to me my memory's careC
The misspent hours fled where oh whereC
-
Sing not to me of the battlefieldD
Nor splintered lance nor of broken shieldD
Not of gory plumes once freshly fairC
Not of banners rent nor pennon bareC
But sing to me my memory's careC
The misspent hours fled where oh whereC
-
Sing not to me of the sea fight wonE
By daring hearts and by flashing gunE
Not how o'er the deep in exultant gleeB
The victor's ship speeds galliantlyB
But sing to me my memory's careC
The misspent hours fled where oh whereC
-
Sing not of summer sing not of springF
For these no joy to my heart can bringF
Sing not of autumn yellow and sereG
Sing not of pallid winter frosty and drearG
But sing to me my memory's careG
The misspent hours fled where oh whereG
-
Sing not of Love's deep tendernessH
Nor its whispered words share its sweet caressI
Sing not to me of Beauty's powerG
Nor the bridal morn Love's dearest hourG
But sing to me my memory's careG
The misspent hours fled where oh whereG
-
Sing sing to me with a mocking songJ
Of the guilty past and its deeds of wrongJ
Sing till around me the phantoms comeK
Or the broken hearts in a distant homeL
These these are my memory's careG
And shriek them forth to my soul's despairG
