Links Of Love, The Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGDGD HIHIJDJD

My heart is like a driver clubA
That heaves the pellet hard and straightB
That carries every let and rubA
The whole performance really greatB
My heart is like a bulger headC
That whiffles on the wily teeD
Because my love has kindly saidC
She'll halve the round of life with meD
-
My heart is also like a cleekE
Resembling most the mashie sortF
That spanks the object so to speakE
Across the sandy bar to portF
And hers is like a putting greenG
The haven where I boast to beD
For she assures me she is keenG
To halve the round of life with meD
-
Raise me a bunker if you canH
That beetles o'er a deadly ditchI
Where any but the bogey manH
Is practically bound to pitchI
Plant me beneath a hedge of thornJ
Or up a figurative treeD
What matter when my love has swornJ
To halve the round of life with meD
