I don't ask you to be faithful you're beautiful after allB
but just that I be spared the pain of knowingC
I make no stringent demands that you should really be chasteD
but only that you try to cover upE
If a girl can claim to be pure it's the same as being pureF
it's only admitted vice that makes for scandalG
What madness to confess by day what's wrapped in nightH
and what you've done in secret openly tellI
The hooker about to bed some Roman off the streetJ
still locks her door first keeping out the crowdK
will you yourself then make your sins notoriousL
accusing and prosecuting your own crimeM
Be wise and learn at least to imitate chaste girlsN
and let me believe you're good though you are notO
Do what you do but simply deny you ever didP
there's nothing wrong with public modestyQ
There is a proper place for looseness fill it upE
with all voluptuousness and banish shameR
but when you're done there then put off all playfulnessL
and leave your indiscretions in your bedS
There don't be ashamed to lay your gown asideT
and press your thigh against a pressing thighU
there take and give deep kisses with your crimson lipsV
let love contrive a thousand ways of passionW
there let delighted words and moans come ceaselesslyQ
and make the mattress quiver with playful motionW
But put on with your clothes a face that's all discretionW
and let Shame disavow your shocking deedsX
Trick everyone trick me leave me in ignoranceY
let me enjoy the life of a happy foolZ
Why must I see so often notes received and sentA2
Why must I see two imprints on your bedS
or your hair disarrayed much more than sleep could doB2
Why must I notice love bites on your neckC2
You all but flaunt your indiscretions in my faceD2
Think of me if not of your reputationW
I lose my mind I die when you confess you've sinnedE2
I break out in cold sweat from hand to footF2
I love you then and hate you in vain since I must love youB2
I wish then I were dead and you were tooB2
I won't investigate or check whatever you tryU
to hide I will be thankful to be deceivedG2
But even if I catch you in the very actH2
and look on your disgrace with my own eyesI2
deny that I have seen what I have clearly seenJ2
and my eyes will agree with what you claimR
You'll win an easy prize from a man who wants to loseK2
only remember to say 'I didn't do it '-
Since you can gain your victory with one short phraseL2
win on account of your judge if not your caseD2
