In Summer's Heat Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGHIJJKK JJGGLL

In summer's heat and mid time of the dayA
To rest my limbs upon a bed I layA
One window shut the other open stoodB
Which gave such light as twinkles in a woodB
Like twilight glimpse at setting of the sunC
Or night being past and yet not day begunC
Such light to shamefaced maidens must be shownD
Where they may sport and seem to be unknownD
Then came Corinna in a long loose gownE
Her white neck hid with tresses hanging downE
Resembling fair Semiramis going to bedF
Or Lais of a thousand wooers spedF
I snatched her gown being thin the harm was smallG
Yet strived she to be covered therewithalG
And striving thus as one that would be chasteH
Betrayed herself and yielded at the lastI
Stark naked as she stood before mine eyeJ
Not one wen in her body could I spyJ
What arms and shoulders did I touch and seeK
How apt her breasts were to be pressed by meK
How smooth a belly under her waist saw IJ
How large a leg and what a lusty thighJ
To leave the rest all liked me passing wellG
I clinged her naked body down she fellG
Judge you the rest Being tired she bade me kissL
Jove send me more such afternoons as thisL
