Silentium Amoris Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACCB DEDFFE GFFHHF

As often times the too resplendent sunA
Hurries the pallid and reluctant moonB
Back to her sombre cave ere she hath wonA
A single ballad from the nightingaleC
So doth thy Beauty make my lips to failC
And all my sweetest singing out of tuneB
-
And as at dawn across the level meadD
On wings impetuous some wind will comeE
And with its too harsh kisses break the reedD
Which was its only instrument of songF
So my too stormy passions work me wrongF
And for excess of Love my Love is dumbE
-
But surely unto Thee mine eyes did showG
Why I am silent and my lute unstrungF
Else it were better we should part and goF
Thou to some lips of sweeter melodyH
And I to nurse the barren memoryH
Of unkissed kisses and songs never sungF
