La Mer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFE

A white mist drifts across the shroudsA
A wild moon in this wintry skyB
Gleams like an angry lion's eyeB
Out of a mane of tawny cloudsA
-
The muffled steersman at the wheelC
Is but a shadow in the gloomD
And in the throbbing engine roomD
Leap the long rods of polished steelC
-
The shattered storm has left its traceE
Upon this huge and heaving domeF
For the thin threads of yellow foamF
Float on the waves like ravelled laceE
