Impression Du Matin Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFE GHHG

The Thames nocturne of blue and goldA
Changed to a Harmony in greyB
A barge with ochre coloured hayB
Dropt from the wharf and chill and coldA
-
The yellow fog came creeping downC
The bridges till the houses' wallsD
Seemed changed to shadows and St Paul'sD
Loomed like a bubble o'er the townC
-
Then suddenly arose the clangE
Of waking life the streets were stirredF
With country waggons and a birdF
Flew to the glistening roofs and sangE
-
But one pale woman all aloneG
The daylight kissing her wan hairH
Loitered beneath the gas lamps' flareH
With lips of flame and heart of stoneG
