Easter Day Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAADDAEFGGFH

The silver trumpets rang across the DomeA
The people knelt upon the ground with aweB
And borne upon the necks of men I sawC
Like some great God the Holy Lord of RomeA
Priest like he wore a robe more white than foamA
And king like swathed himself in royal redD
Three crowns of gold rose high upon his headD
In splendour and in light the Pope passed homeA
My heart stole back across wide wastes of yearsE
To One who wandered by a lonely seaF
And sought in vain for any place of restG
'Foxes have holes and every bird its nestG
I only I must wander wearilyF
And bruise my feet and drink wine salt with tears 'H
