Had thou knownA
How I live aloneA
In a dark dark placeB
Searching for a traceB
Of your lovely smileC
You would've walked a mileC
To come and save what's leftD
Of my sole giftE
The Heart that beats with thy nameF
Whene'er you went or cameF
-
Why art thou so dearG
When you draw nearG
My senses all meltH
I swear I ne'er feltH
So hard a shiverI
Running through my bones for everI
And for everI
-
Can I take theeJ
In a quick journeyJ
-
Remember on this tiny chairK
How thou and I used to shareK
Our utmost love and fearG
When I said My LoveL
And you said DearG
'Twas never enoughM
And when I hear you coughN
My heart sinks down to my kneesO
And I beseech the lord PleaseO
Take away all my healthP
And bestow upon me sickness and filthQ
For in her wholesomenessR
I shall find my remedy and livelinessR
-
Remember how I used to reciteS
Poems of serenity after we fightS
The poet of Nature WordsworthT
Meredith Shelley and GoldsmithU
They all know howV
I miss thee nowV
-
Lookee you Byron's hereW
Tennyson too and ShakespeareW
Come and let us celebrateX
Forget all the hardships and hateX
Your couch is calling thy nameF
And your picture in the frameF
Is smilingY
And I am dyingY
-
Yet as the sunlight clasps the earthT
And the moonbeams kiss the seaJ
The lord can cause the rebirthT
Of our Love You and MeJ
