Facilis Ascensus Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF GGDD

Up into the Cherry TreeA
Who should climb but little meA
With both my Paws I hold on tightB
And look upon a pleasant sightB
-
There are the Gardens far awayC
Where little Foreign Kittens playC
And those queer specks of black and brownD
Are naughty cats that live in TownD
-
And there among the tulips redE
Where I may never lay my headE
I see the Cruel Gardener hoeF
The baby weeds that may not growF
-
Now I climb down Oh dear I mewG
Which end goes first what shall I doG
Oh good Kind Gardener big and brownD
Please come and help this Kitten downD
