is just a number they sayA
months a different meaning it does carryB
The bulgeness of the bellyB
The magnificent stature recessedC
A being in the womb conceivedD
The pang of birth yieldedE
-
All this a disgraceF
A supposed blessingG
Turned out to be a curseH
I bore a son with no dreams for chasingG
Alas I bore a son for the streetsI
-
A seed it wasJ
A seed of povertyB
I thought it wasJ
Thought it was noveltyB
-
I thought with a sceptor in handK
He would rule the worldL
Alas he rules the streets the shacks and bridgesM
The fruit of mineN
Who knew it was a curseH
-
Born under evilO
Living under evilO
Influenced by the devilO
Oh a being so sinfulO
-
Son seed of mineN
Sorrow surges in meB
Since stealing sandwichesP
Became your habit and grewQ
You were only five thenR
Still stings meB
It grew as you grewQ
-
I can't say it out loudS
With beaming prideT
That you're the fruit if my wombU
I utter it with a woundV
Both in my heart and wombU

Tee Jay: that fruit is a curse indeed. I wonder how many of us are curses to our parents. Great poem.
