The First Kiss Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF

On Helen s heart the day were nightA
But I may not adventure thereB
Here breast is guarded by a rightA
And she is true as fairB
-
And though in happy days her eyesC
The glow within mine own could pleaseD
She s purer than the babe who criesC
For empire on her kneesD
-
Her love is for her lord and childE
And unto them belongs her snowF
But none can rob me of her wildE
Young kiss of long agoF
